Stop Running And Hear

Summary: The Word is literally near to you. Save money and stay home going to the One whose word you need to hear!
Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.
Need a word from God? There are 783,137 words in the KJV. Stay in the Book and He will show you the words that pertain to you or your situation.
Stop running around seeking a word. God is omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent. If you are His, He will communicate all you need to know. He has given you the Bible so you can have the foundation of truth. He has given you the Holy Spirit to lead you in to all truth. He will not tell you what you want to hear. He will give you what you need to know and do. He knows you better than you will ever know yourself.
Trust in God. Spend time with Him. Why go through a middle man? Yes, there is safety in counselors and pastor-teachers are needful, but when you want to know someone you communicate with them.
You do not need an interpreter to speak to God. You have a mediator, Jesus Christ. Through Him you can come to the throne of grace to receive mercy in your time of need. You have direct access if you are truly a born again child of God.
Jeremiah 23:16 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.
17 They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.
There are many "prophets" that are not from God. We are in danger of hearing our own will in the voice of God to justify fulfilling our desires, not His. These "prophets" only prophesy good things. Everyone will do marvelous deeds for the Lord and will have money or ministry. No one is going to have hard times or will just be a godly wife and mother or husband and father. No one will just be a godly example at their job. It is always great glory, but is it to God's glory or the glory of the person.
Beware what you hear. Check the Word. Most of God's greatest servants suffered persecution and many were murdered. Indeed, many in the Hall of Faith are unnamed and lived tough lives but were honored by God.
Want to be great in the Lord? Jesus said be the servant of all. Paul said that the godly SHALL suffer persecution rather than prosperity. Despise not prophesy, but do not honor false prophets that do not speak according to the written testimony of God, but by their vain imagination.
Shun them when the prophesy does not happen. One wrong prophesy and they are to be avoided as they have to be one hundred percent correct. If that was required in an OT prophet who had the Spirit come upon them when it was necessary, how much more so in a person that the Holy Spirit dwells in?
Again, seek your word from the Word and the Spirit. Run from seducing spirits that prophesy doctrines of demons. May they be anathema. Maranatha!!!
