Summary: Victory and success offered through ‘worldly methods’ would perish like the morning mist! The Good Shepherd said, “I will take you to green pastures and still waters.” Do you hear me? Stop chasing mirages!
Stop Chasing mirages!
1 Chronicles 28:1”Now David assembled at Jerusalem all the leaders of Israel: the officers of the tribes and the captains of the divisions who served the king, the captains over thousands and captains over hundreds, and the stewards over all the substance.”
Arindam Chaudhuri’s book on “59 minutes guide to success” released by movie star SRK had whopping sales. This man not only runs a management school but also has produced many hit movies, he draws huge crowd for his speeches with jam-packed auditoriums. Quotes of film actor Rajnikanth was released which also had a phenomenal sales record. Every word twitted by Super Star Amitabh Bachchan is closely followed and also published as ‘important news.’ The stunning success stories of the above celebrities have been the reason for being desperately sought after. There sure is a passionate quest for success and making it big in life, but sadly the people are running towards the wrong direction –a mirage. “Success doesn't come to you, you've to go to it” is what Arindam Chaudhuri writes in his book. These guys are chasing mirages, and leading the poor flock to the wrong destination. Victory and success offered through ‘worldly methods’ would perish like the morning mist! The Good Shepherd said, “I will take you to green pastures and still waters.” Do you hear me? Stop chasing mirages!
The staggering success of king David had eclipsed every other feat achieved so far! The above scripture is sure evidence of the ‘colossal abundance’ in the life of king David with super-duper man power, wealth, riches and the huge empire over which he was king . Wow! Pause and read the above scripture once again, when success reaches a crescendo, many go bonkers and lose the essence of life, but David was unique, he knew for sure that his success and victory was from God and God alone. That’s the spirit! Praise the Lord! It was a perfect ‘rages to riches’ dramatic story of a shepherd becoming the king of a big empire of Judah and Israel. The shepherd boy is king David!
There is no hocus-pocus in the Bible, you cannot be transported to the dream land in a magic carpet or by holding your Bible in your hand – if you need success, you got to obey His commandments one hundred percent. Are you there? There is no short cut! If today you are going through failure, discouragement, sickness and a hopeless situation, I have come to encourage you to look at the life of David and be comforted. He would lift you up too! Jesus is the lifter of our head!
• 1 Samuel 21:1”Then came David to Nob to Ahimelech the priest: and Ahimelech was afraid at the meeting of David, and said unto him, Why art thou alone, and no man with thee?”
Just observe the above scripture where Ahimelech the priest asked David, ‘why are you alone, and no man with you?’ It was an utter lonely period in the life of David; however, God had to take him through a series of ‘chastening experiences’ in order to mold David into the future king. The King Maker makes no mistakes! Further David runs to Adullam cave: “And every one that was in distress, and every one that was in debt, and every one that was discontented, gathered themselves unto him; and he became a captain over them: and there were with him about four hundred men.” (1 Samuel 22:1) David did not have a mighty band of warriors but a bunch of 400 broken men; nevertheless, when David stayed glued to God, followed God step by step, we see enormous blessings in his life.
Think of the Bible scriptures as an absolutely accurate map that leads to success.
God bless you!
