Stirring Up The Fires
Contributed by Rick Croffut on Nov 28, 2017 (message contributor)
Summary: This message describe what the enemy tries to do everytime that you and I stir up the fires of revival. Paul helps us by putting it all into perspective.
Pay special attention to when this occurred. > Before any miracles took place & at a time when Paul could have easily been discouraged. Remember that his life was almost take by the storms. But this was nothing new to him:
Acts 16:25, “25But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. 26Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.
Phil. 4:4, “Rejoice in the Lord always & again I say rejoice”
And Satan is still using the same intimidation tactics today. The revival fires are being stirred and the enemy – which by the way doesn’t mind a cold, religious, laxidazical church – comes to life when the Fire is stoked. He may even bring attacks at you & me personally. I can’t tell you how, I can’t tell you when; but you can count on it that if you find yourself in the midst of God’s Fire, the snakes are nearby. Hell isn’t happy when the revival fires are blazing.
So I want to ask you this morning what you’re response will be:
1. Intimidation
2. Fear
3. Cowardice
4. Fall back into a relaxed state
or
5. I must be warming up the Fires of God because the snakes are waking from their sleep!
We had, what I would consider to be, an transformational service this past Wednesday night. If you were here you know what I’m talking about. To say that God moved would be an understatement. On me personally, God spoke some authoritative words of instruction and brought a peace. God is desiring to send revival fires; but 1st He is concerned with what our response will be.
It’s sorta like sending somebody out for a test drive: What did you think about the vehicle? How’d it suit you? Wanna take it Home?
1. The fire is sent to us so that we can step out with boldness
2. In the midst of the fire we will see the miraculous hand of God at work.
3. When the fire is ignited we will see souls saved & people set free.
Where are you this morning?
Have you been bit by one of those snakes of indifference; ridicule; destruction? Have you been bit by the snakes of intimidation; cowardice; or conformity?
I’ve got good news for you this morning.
The same God who empowered Paul to shake it off can do the same for you.
And where did Paul shake it?
The same fire that ignited it!
When we are consumed with God’s plan & purposes we will not even suffer harm from the bite! It reminds me of 1 Cor. 15:55, “O Death, where is your sting? O Hell, where is your victory?”
