Summary: There was no emancipation proclamation from spiritual slavery.

Point #1 - There was no emancipation proclamation from spiritual slavery or from the Tem commandments. Christ did not abolish the Ten Commandments.

ASV Matthew 5:17-20

Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Point # 2 – God’s Standard the Ten Commandments

Have you ever lied? Liar

Have you ever cheated? Cheater

Have you ever stolen? Thief

Have you ever looked on someone with lust? Secret adulterer

Have you ever used God’s name in vain? Blasphemer

ASV Matthew 5:21-22

Ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: but I say unto you, that every one who is angry with his brother shall be in danger of the judgment; and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council; and whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of the hell of fire.

ASV Matthew 5:27-28

Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shalt not commit adultery: but I say unto you, that every one that looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

1. You will be judged according to the Ten Commandments when you stand before God.

2. Are you guilty or blameless under the law?

3. According to God’s standard are you going to heaven or hell?

Point # 3 – You are expected to keep the Commandments.

ASV Romans 2:12-13

For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without the law: and as many as have sinned under the law shall be judged by the law; for not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified:

ASV Matthew 7:21

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven.

ASV Luke 11:28

But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

1. You are still expected to fulfill the Commandments of Christ

2. You are required to live out your faith in God

3. Obedience is not an option

True Christianity

1. True repentance and faith produce a change of heart.

2. True repentance and faith always produces a change in actions

3. Those who name Christ and then proceed to drag Christ thru the mud of their lifestyle. Not true Christians

4. Are you a true Christian?

5. Do you need to repent?

ASV John 12:46-48

I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me may not abide in the darkness. And if any man hear my sayings, and keep them not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my sayings, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I spake, the same shall judge him in the last day.

ASV John 14:23-24

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my words: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s who sent me.

The flu pandemic that is expected to breakout is not a matter of if but of when. The current flu crisis in Asia has a 72% mortality rate. That means that if this strain does become a pandemic and sweep around the world almost 75% of your family, your friends, your neighbors, and your co-workers could be dead within one year. Are you being a worldly Christian or a world class Christian? Are you living for God’s purpose or your own purpose? Are you fulfilling your commission or are you ignoring it? Are you living so that you are ready to stand before God, or do you need to do some house cleaning first?
