After the Divine Creator finished constructing this vast biosphere suspended in the mist of the universe, God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” Therefore, God created mankind in his own image from the dust of the ground and breathed into humanity’s nostrils the breath of life, and the earthman became a living being.

Moreover, God blessed humanity and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and over every living creature that moves on the ground. I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground, everything that has the breath of life in it, I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.

At the beginning of time inside the Garden of Eden, God ordained and crowned the very first Royalty upon the earth. He created our very distant ancestors, blessed them, gave them a kingdom, and told them to rule. However, before the very first chapter of the story closed, Lucifer quickly appeared and talked man into stepping out of his God-ordained place. He introduced doubt in what God had said to Eve. From inside the snake, he said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” More importantly, that doubt simply led Eve to stop believing in God’s words despite knowing what God said.

The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’ Immediately, the serpent interrupted the woman with a bold face lie, “You will not certainly die. God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Sadly, the Scriptures states that when the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food, pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

Before traveling further, let us look at the lie that Lucifer told in order to reveal the true. The lie was not you will not certainly die, because they did not die because God let them live. The lie was not God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened because that is what happened and God always know the truth. The lie was simply you will be like God. It was a not lie because they were already made in the image and likeness of God. It was simply a lie because when they doubted, stopped believing in, and then disobeyed what God said; they sinned. God is holy and has no sin. Therefore, after eating the fruit, their eyes became open to their sin. They saw that they were no longer like God and covered their shame. Nevertheless, that was the least of the damage done on that sad day. The real damage done was Adam and Eve gave up the Throne.

Millenniums later, Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. So, the tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” Familiar with the devil’s tricks, Jesus answered; “It is written Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” Later, the devil took him to the holy city and stood him the highest point of the temple and lured, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down. For it is written: He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.” Again, Jesus just answered, “It is also written: Do not put the Lord your God to the test.” Lastly, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor and said, “All this I will give you, if you will bow down and worship me.” Frustrated at Lucifer’ stupidity, Jesus commanded, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.” Therefore, the devil left him, and angels came and attended him. More importantly, what happened was Lucifer was just trying to get Jesus to doubt who he was. Nevertheless, this time he did not convince that someone created by God to give up the Throne.
