Staying Preserved, In A Fermented World!
Jude 1: 1-10
As, I start this sermon I must say that I am very thankful for Jude’s letter written to all believers everywhere. This letter from Jude helps us understand the importance of staying truthful to our faith in Jesus Christ and his word.
The world in which we live in is becoming very fermented with the lies of Satan. We need to make sure that we stay Preserved in Jesus Christ and his word.
The word Preserved means to keep in perfect or unaltered condition; maintain unchanged. I want you to know this morning that God’s word is true and not false. His word is not for us to use it as we want to. But it is here for us to use it to help us stay preserved in this fermented world.
This morning we must get a clear understanding of what the word ferment means. When something has been fermented it means it has been change from its natural state or it has been agitated.
As God was speaking to me and giving me the words for this sermon. My mind went back to the days where I could remember my Dad and Mom trying to allow some grapes to ferment for some old country wine. (Explain)
This same process is still taking place in some homes today and for those who can not wait that long they go and buy some that has already been ferment. I want you to ask your neighbors are you Preserved or Fermented? (Follow the Holy Spirit)
Explain how the world became Ferment by the lies of Satan!
I am talking about Staying Preserved, In A Fermented World!
My brothers and sisters we must always remember that this world we live in, means us no good. We must stay battle ready with the whole armor of God. Paul reminds us in Ephesians Chapter 6: 10-13. 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Even in the mist of a fermented world we must remain Holy. For in the book of Ephesians 1:4 - According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
How can we do this? Well, the God we serve is Holy. So therefore we can be Holy. The book of 1 Corinthians 3:17 - If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
Our bodies are the temple of the Lord and we no longer belong to ourselves. For the Book of 1 Corinthians 6:19 - What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
So therefore the only way we can remain preserved in this fermented world is to stay connected to Jesus and his word. Not our word or way but His word and His way. We must not allow ourselves and the ones around us be fooled that it is ok to do what we want to do and it be ok with God. We must live in tune with his word. We must have a true relationship with the son of God Jesus Christ. He is the only one that can and will preserve us. No matter what the world tries to teach us we must only listen to Gods word. We must not be led by anything other than the Holy Spirit of God.
Jude encourages us this morning to defend and maintain our faith.
We must not compromise Gods word so we can do what we want to do. The Bible is the inspired word of God and it should never be twisted or manipulated. When we do this we become confuse over right and wrong. We then loose sight on the on path that can lead us to eternal life.
Jude warns us that there are those who will turn away from the true teachings of Jesus Christ and embrace false teachings. I want you to understand that false teachings are things that do not line up with the word of God. Even in the church we have false teachers. False teachers are not just in the world. False teachers like to twist Gods word so it can fit and justify their on opinions, life-style, or wrong behavior.
