Spread The Good News Again
Contributed by Nettie J Pennington on Nov 13, 2025 (message contributor)
Summary: Big Idea: “As the Scripture says, how beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news” (Rom. 10:15)!
In times like these, we cannot afford to be complacent. We must continue to spread the Good News again and again and again. We must preach and teach the Good News of Jesus Christ everywhere we go, intentionally and with passion, and sometimes we must do it without saying a word. Take a step back in time with me and think about the joy you felt when you shared the good news of a new life entering this world, a child’s wedding plans, a graduation, or a friend's healing. These are blessings that we should not only thank God for but also rejoice when we share. Examine yourself and admit it, your spirit feels tremendous joy when you share good news with others. We must be intentional and passionate when sharing the Good News of the Gospel Message. “As the Scripture says, how beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news” (Rom. 10:15)! As you travel, stay on the narrow road and stay reconciled to God. God sent this message to the people of Israel, proclaiming the gospel of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all (Acts 10:36).
However, how can anyone believe if they have not heard? The disciples were commissioned and by confession in Jesus Christ, we also are commissioned to go into the world and preach the gospel message to every human being (Mark 16:15). In the past, the Lord made His appeal through Paul, other commissioned disciples, and regular people who believed. Today, the Lord is making His appeal through us. Paul was bold and intentional when encouraging the Philippians, saying, "This is because you have taken part with me in spreading the good news from the first day you heard about it" (Philippians 1:5). When was the first day you heard the good news? Have you been spreading the Good News since the day you first heard it?
When Paul went to the Roman colony of Philippi, he spread the Good News to many, including “a woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message” (Acts 16:15). Has the Lord opened your heart to the Good News of the Gospel from Jesus Christ, or are you still mixing your truth with His truth? Like Paul, Lydia, and many others, we are disciples of the Lord and Ministers of Reconciliation. Sharing the Good News is effective when we acknowledge Christ as the power behind our victories. As we have the opportunity, let us share the Good News of the Gospel, never neglecting to do good, and to share with others the personal sacrifices that are pleasing to God (Heb. 13:16).
We are Ambassadors for Christ, and we should walk worthy of our calling. We are called out from among the people who do not believe and anointed to proclaim the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations and teach the people to obey all that the Lord commands. Even though Satan and his minions are trying to whitewash or erase the history that dares to record the cruelty that man perpetrated on black Americans in recent centuries, history will not forget. Why? Because those who ignore or erase their past are bound to repeat it. This is evidenced by the same cruelty prowling the streets today, in unmarked vans with their faces hidden. The faces changed, but cruelty remains the same because it is perpetrated by people who call evil good and good evil. There is a desperate need for the disciples of Jesus Christ to preach the Good News of the Gospel again, again, and again.
If we work together, we can resist the devil and keep his hateful and deceitful words from filling our hearts and minds. We need to joyfully spread the Good News of the Gospel together, not begrudgingly and under duress. Let us resist the urge to focus on ourselves. We are His masterpiece, and with Him, all things are possible. So, do not interrupt the Lord’s work by starting the race and then allowing someone to hinder your progress. "God is the one who began this good work in you, and I am certain that he won't stop before it is complete on the day that Christ Jesus returns" (Philippians 1:6). Stay the course. As the song says, “Do not give up on God, because He won’t give up on you”. Rejoice and delight in the work you do for the Lord. The Philippians could have given up because Paul was in prison, and they knew that many of the other churches he had planted were having problems. Paul was concerned about a report from church members asking him to address issues of sexual immorality, division, and boasting within the Corinthian Church. People were turning against Paul and his ministry, and some of the people he taught were even embracing heresy. However, nothing stopped Paul from continuing the work of the Lord and preaching the Good News of the Gospel again, again, and again.
