SPIRITUAL WARFARE

Deuteronomy 28:7"The LORD shall cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you; they will come out against you one way and will flee before you seven ways.”

This is against spiritual wickedness….

Very smartly dressed with my elegant file in hand, when I walked up to the Officer-in -charge to enquire about details to ‘start a school’ , I didn’t know then the warfare that I would have to fight to achieve the purpose of God. While I was standing inside the cabin, the officer-in-charge was chatting away to glory with another man who were both seated while as a woman I was standing, he royally ignored me. I firmly stood there and again asked the same question, ‘what are the formalities to start a school?’ While I asked in English, he answered me in his local language and rattled off the details, quietly I told him that I don’t understand the language, with an exasperated expression he scribbled the details on a piece of paper and asked me to leave, my pursuit to serve the poor and educate them started this way, don’t expect cake-walk while you venture into the domain of darkness to serve the Lord, GET EQUIPPED TO FIGHT THE ENEMY WITH DIVINE WEAPONS. Anybody listening?

We must understand that our fight is not against flesh and blood, in other words not against humans but with spiritual wickedness in the high places, are you there? You can even be provoked in the highways too when people drive rashly and yet spew obscenities and yell at you. Understand we live in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, so stay calm and flee that place. The more closer you get to God, fast, spend long hours in prayer and Bible reading then you become a terror to the devil’s kingdom, it’s now that he starts frustrating you…..mark my words, he can only frustrate you not DESTROY you. Hurray! Get encouraged. Don’t give up the fight with the enemy, be it your boss, your colleagues, your in-laws, your business partners, whoever……stay patient, God will fight the battle for you, read this:

Hebrews 13:6”…so that we confidently say, "The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?"

How do I fight this battle?

A) STRENGTH COMES FROM THE LORD: Read Luke 6:22”Blessed are you when men hate you, and ostracize you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man.”

When you are lampooned, mocked and humiliated for the good works that you had done for people, your heart breaks into million pieces but let us take refuge in the words of our Lord Jesus Christ who said, ‘you are blessed when men hate you.’ People will hate you, please understand that and don’t go bonkers when that does happen. We were making a rental agreement with the owner of a building and everything was going smooth but one day for a small issue he told me quite blankly, ‘when I speak with you I get terribly angry, you make me feel that way’, how do you think you will feel when you hear such words from a man? The tailor with whom I have very cordial relationship one day snapped back on the phone and said, ”whenever I talk to you, I feel uneasy and irritated” – BAM – I knew it was not the tailor but the devil interacting with me through her vocal cords. Ah! I am helping and healing lot of people right now! So understand, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12)

B) DISCERNING MIND:

1 King 3:9”So give Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people to discern between good and evil…”

Oh yeah, I pray this prayer all the time: when I recruit staff, when a Sunday school teacher joins, when a new teacher is appointed, when my children move with friends, when I set forth to meet officials for Government approvals, business transactions ….and so on, I got to pray loud and clear, ‘Lord, give me a discerning mind to differentiate between good and evil.’ This is essential for spiritual warfare so that you identify the ‘demon’ that is tormenting you and you fling it into the deepest pit. Read this awesome scripture : “…..Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.” 2 Corinthians 11:14 Beware!

Ah, they may be people very, very close to you…………..so carefully deal with the demon ‘inside’ them. You know why I say this, it is because I was tormented for several years with such spiritual warfare that almost tore me apart; however, through severe fasting and prayer I was able to identify the group of demons that were conniving to destroy me…..nevertheless, I triumphed and survived. I am now in the season of favor standing on top of scorpions and snakes! Hurray! Friend, you can win too, stay brutally patient and calm, God would keep you understanding.
