TITLE (SPIRITUAL BURN-OUT).OR (I AM JUST BURN OUT)

(INTRO)

PAUL WROTE TO SOME CHURCHES IN GALATIA THAT WAS STESSED AND WEARY IN THE WORK OF THE LORD.SOME FALSE TEACHERS KNOWN AS JUDAIZERS HAD CONFUSED THE PEOPLE OF GOD.THE CHURCH LEADERS BECAME FATIGUED OVER FIGTHING THE HERESY AND PROCLAIMING THE TRUTH OF THE GOSPEL.

PAUL WROTE ALSO TO ENCOURAGE THESE LEADERS NOT TO GET BURN-OUT,""THE WORD FOR WEARY ""DESCRIBES THE IDEA OF FAINTING OR LOSING HEART.IN OUR DAY WE SAY I AM BURN OUT.

TO EXAMINE THE CONDITION LET US GET SOME INSIGHTS ABOUT SPIRITUAL BURN-OUT.

1.THERE ARE SOME RECOGNIZABLE CASES OF SPIRITUAL BURN-OUT,IN THE BIBLE SUCH AS (MOSES) HE GOT WEARY FROM THE WILDERNESS WANDERINGS AND THE REBELLIOUS PEOPLE,HE DEMONSTRATED HIS WEARINESS BY STRIKING THE ROCK INSTEAD OF SPEAKING TO IT.(ELIJAH)IS ANOTHER CASE OF BURN OUT AFTER HIS HIGH MOMENT OF VICTORY OVER THE PRIEST OF BAAL ON MT.CARMEL,HE SAT UNDER A JUNIPER TREE WITH A GOOD CASE OF BURN-OUT.LOOK AROUND YOU AND YOU WILL SEE RECOGNIZABLE CASES OF SPIRITUAL BURN-OUT.

BURN OUT PREVAILS IN MANY CHURCH WORKERS,AND EVEN PREACHERS,CHOIR LEADERS,IN OUR DAY.

(THERE ARE SYMPTOMS OF BURN OUT BEING) ,

(EXHAUSTED),(FRUSTRATED),(HELPLESS),(FEELING SAD) (CRITICAL OF OTHERS),(DISCOURAGED),(LACK OF ENTHUSIASM

(THERE ARE VARIOUS CAUSES OF SPIRITUAL BURN-OUT)

A.BURN OUT MAY BE CAUSED BY OVER EXTENDING OUR SELVES

THE PEOPLE OF GOD IN GALATIA WORKED LONG AND HARD ON THE PROMBLEMS RAISED BY THE JUDAIZERS.CHIRSTIAN WORKERS ARE NOT SUPER MEN NOR WONDER WOMEN,THE PEOPLE OF GOD GET TIRED AND BURN OUT TOO.

B.BURN OUT MAY BE CAUSED BY FAILURE TO EXPRESS OURSELF

PAUL WAS NOT AFRAID TO EXPRESS HIS SELF GAL.5:12

I WOULD THEY WERE EVEN CUT OFF WHICH TROUBLE YOU.

3.(THERE ARE SOME THERAPEUTIC CURES FOR SPIRTITUAL

BURN-OUT.

A.LISTEN TO GOD"S PRECIOUS WORD FOR ENCOURAGEMT.

PAUL HAD A WORD FROM THE LORD HE SAID LET US NOT BE WEARY IN WELL DOING.THE GOOD NEWS IS GOD HAS AN APPROPRATE WORD FOR OUR SITUATIONS,AND IN EACH CASE WE SHOULD LISTEN TO HIS WORD.

HIS WORD WILL (CHEER YOU),(LEFT YOU UP),(HIS WORD WILL HELP YOU, HIS (WORD WILL COMFORT YOU).

B.LEAN ON GOD"S POWER AND STRENGTH,

PAUL GAVE A GREAT PROMISE FOR IN DUE SEASON WE SHALL REAP IF WE FAINT NOT.YOU SEE LEANING ON THE LORD BRINGS RENEWAL.

(ISAIAH 40:29)

HE GIVETH POWER TO THE FAINT AND TO THEM THAT HAVE NO MIGHT HE INCREASETH STRENGHT.

(ISAIAH 40:31)

BUT THEY THAT WAIT UPON THE LORD SHALL RENEW THEIR STRENGTH THEY SHALL MOUNT UP WITH WINGS AS EAGLES:THEY SHALL RUN AND NOT BE WEARY AND THEY SHALL WALK ,AND NOT FAINT.

(PHILIPPIANS 4:13)

I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHIRST WHICH STRENGTHENTH ME.

C.(LOOK UP TO GOD, AND CALL ON GOD FOR HELP)

(PS.121:1) I WILL LIFT UP MINE EYES UNTO THE HILLS,FROM WHENCE COMETH MY HELP.

VERSE 2,MY HELP COMETH FROM THE LORD,WHICH MADE HEAVEN AND EARTH.

(PS.46:1) GOD IS OUR REFUGE AND STRENGTH ,A VERY PRESENT HELP IN TROUBLE.

(HEBREWS 12:2)LOOKING UNTO JESUS THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF OUR FAITH.

(JEREMIAH 33:3)

CALL UNTO ME,AND I WILL ANSWER THEE,AND SHEW THEE GREAT AND MIGHTY THINGS,WHICH THOU KNOWEST NOT.

IN CLOSING, TAKE TIME TO EXAMINE YOUR WORK FOR THE LORD BECAUSE YOUR LABOR IS NOT IN VAIN IN THE LORD

(I CORINTHIANS 15:58)THERFORE ,MY BELOVED BRETHREN,BE YE STEADFAST,UNMOVEABLE ,ALWAYS ABOUNDING IN THE WORK OF THE LORD,FORASMUCH AS YE KNOW THAT YOUR LABOR IS NOT IN VAIN IN THE LORD.

AND DO NOT FORGET WE ARE NOT HOME YET, PAY DAY WILL COME,, (SOME GOLDEN DAY BREAK JESUS WILL COME.

Spiritual burnout seems to be ignored today in our churches, but if we would all come together with our gifts and talents it would surely take the load off others. may God renew and refresh both lay members and leaders in our churches today. Amen.
