Summary: God loves us so much that he lavished upon us spiritual blessings from the throne of grace. All believers who are united and baptised into the body of Christ have access to these spiritual blessings.

TEXT: EPHESIANS 1:3

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ."

BLESSED ABOVE MEASURE

Believers in Christ are blessed above measure. Our God and Father, has lavished inestimable blessings upon us, his beloved children. If you are united with Christ and Christ is in you, then God loves your beyond your wildest imagination. "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Cor 2:9 NIV). God will pour his blessings upon your life in overflowing measure in Jesus name.

BLESSINGS FOR SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF GOD

One of the most wonderful blessings God has bestowed upon believers is the privilege to call the Alimighty, our God and Father. God created everyone through Adam, but he is Father to only those who have received Jesus and believed in his name: "... to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God" (John 1:12 NIV). God loves us so much that he calls us his sons and daughters (1 John 1:3). These spiritual blessings are the blessings of a Father to his sons and daughters. If you are a son or daughter of the most high God, shout Hallelujah!

BLESSINGS FROM HEAVEN

As believers, God has blessed us with spiritual blessings in heavenly places. These blessings are not earthly, physical, temporal blessings but celestial, divine, eternal blessings from the abode of God. They are not the type of blessings sought by people of the world (cars, houses, fame, power, money, pleasures, etc) but are for heavenly focused believers who are united with Christ, whose treasures are stored in heaven. Apostle Paul listed these blessings in Ephesians 1:4 -14.

SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS IN CHRIST

1. God loved and chose us before creation to be members of the body of Christ (Eph 1:4a, John 15:16).

2. In Christ, we are holy and blameless in God's eyes. We are justified by our faith in him (Eph 1:4b, Rom 5:1,9, 8:30).

3. God, with great pleasure, adopted us as his children through Jesus (Eph 1:5, Rom 8:15).

4. Because we belong to Jesus, God accepts us and pours his grace lavishly on us (Eph 1:6, 2:8)

5. God purchased our freedom from sin and death by the precious blood of his son, Jesus; forgiving our sins and redeemed us from eternal damnation by his grace (Eph 1:7, Col 1:14).

6. God has given us wisdom and understanding to know his will as revealed in his word (Eph 1:8, Col 1:9).

7. All things in heaven and earth are united together in Christ, who has released power to the church to bind and loose, plant and uproot and have dominion over evil forces (Eph 1:10, Matt 18:18-19).

8. Because we are united with Christ, we are joint heirs with him of the inheritance of God. (Eph 1:11a, Rom 8:17).

9. Because we are one with Jesus and love God, he ensures that everything works together for our good according to his will (Eph 1:11b, Rom 8:28).

10. God gives us all these blessings so that our lives will bring glory and praise to him (Eph 1:12, Phil 1:11).

11. Believers who are united with Christ are sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit of God as a guarantee of our inheritance in Christ (Eph 1:13-14, 4:30).
