Summary: How to effectively win souls

I. How to Prepare for Soul-winning (Psalm 126:6)

1. You have to be willing to go “He who goes out…”

- Going out is a commandment of God (Matthew 28:18-20)

2. You must go with a broken heart for the lost “weeping...”

- In hell there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, (Matt 8:12; 13:42; 22:13; 24:51; 25:30; Luke 13:28)

- Hell will be for eternity (Matt 8:18; 25:41; 25:46)

- Once we die there are no more chances (Hebrews 9:27)

3. You must know the gospel “bearing the seed for sowing,”

- We must know ourselves (I John 5:13)

- We must show the lost what we have been taught (Matthew 28:18-20)

- We must be prepared (I Peter 3:15)

4. You must remember the promises “shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.”

- When a lost person gets saved there is much celebration in heaven (Luke 15:7;10)

- It is never a waste of time to share God’s word (Isaiah 55:11)

II. Why do the lost need Jesus?

- Because we are all sinners and have a sin debt (Isaiah 64:6b; Romans 3:10;23; 5:12)

- Because the penalty for sin is eternity without God (Romans 6:23b)

- Because no man has any excuse (Romans 1:20)

III. What did Jesus do for our sin debt?

- He paid the sin debt for those who will receive Him (Romans 6:23a; John 1:12)

IV. How do we receive the payment for our sin debt?

- We must believe in what He did (Romans 10:9b)

- We must want Him to save us (Romans 10:9b)

- We must want a relationship with Him (Romans 10:9b)

- We must be willing to confess that Jesus died for us and is Lord (Romans 10:9a)

V. Assurance of Salvation

- God cannot lie (Titus 1:1-2)

- We can know and not have to guess (I John 5:13)
