To explore the transformative power of Jesus, His ability to heal, and the importance of obedience in our spiritual journey.
Good morning, Church family! Isn't it a blessing to be gathered here together, in His house, on this beautiful day that the Lord has made? Today, we're going to dive into the heart of the Gospel, exploring the transforming power of Jesus, His encompassing healing, and the crucial role of obedience in our spiritual journey.
To set the stage, let's ponder over the words of a respected Christian author, Charles Spurgeon, who once said, "Health is set before us as if it were the great thing to be desired above all other things. Is it so? I venture to say that the greatest earthly blessings are health and peace."
This brings us to our scripture for today, which is John 9:1-7. It reads, "As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, ‘Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?’ ‘Neither this man nor his parents sinned,’ said Jesus, ‘but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.’ After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. ‘Go,’ he told him, ‘wash in the Pool of Siloam’ (this word means ‘Sent’). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing."
