Somebody's Praying!
Contributed by Johnny Creasong on Dec 5, 2008 (message contributor)
Summary: My hope is built on nothing less! All success will ever know is the result of the fact at JESUS and the HOLY SPIRIT are praying for us!
SOMEBODY’S PRAYING
LUKE 22:31-32
Luke 22:31-32
31 "Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat.
32 But I have prayed for you,
Simon, that your faith may not fail.
And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers."
(NIV)
It is not
WHAT
you know;
it’s
WHO
you know!
Philippians 3:10
10 I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,
(NIV)
Knowing the LORD
is more important
knowing STUFF!
Luke 22:31
31 "Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat.
(NIV)
If you SERVE God,
Satan will SIFT you!
Being sifted means you will go through the blades and the mesh, maybe even the blood and the mess, in order to be refined.
The good news is…
SOMEBODY’S PRAYING!
Luke 22:32
32 But I have prayed for you, Simon,
that your faith may not fail.
(NIV)
Romans 8:28
28 And we know that all things work together for good
to them that love God,
to them who are the called according to his purpose.
(KJV)
Romans 8:26-27
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities:
for we know not what we should pray for as we ought:
but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
(KJV)
All success we will ever know is the result of the fact that JESUS
and the HOLY SPIRIT
are praying for us!
Hebrews 7:25
25 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them
The Pride of our “Best efforts” and
“Personal accomplishments” always
DIES HARD!
Luke 22:31-34
31 "Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat.
32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers."
33 But he replied, "Lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death."
34 Jesus answered, "I tell you, Peter, before the rooster crows today, you will deny three times that you know me."
(NIV)
Philipians 3:7-9
7 But whatever was to my profit
I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.
8 What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord,
for whose sake I have lost all things.
I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ
9 and be found in him, …
(NIV)
It’s not about what I’ve DONE,
or who I AM.
It’s all about CHRIST IN ME!
Galatians 2:20
20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
(NIV)
