Rom 6:16-18
Adrian Rogers once said,
1. A slave serves because he has to.
Modern slavery's definitions have evolved, encompassing not only
ownership but also forced marriages, government imposed labor,
and human trafficking
Despite global efforts, modern slavery is widespread, with 167
countries harboring an estimated 46 million slaves, including
forced labor and sexual exploitation.
The 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states, "Neither slavery
nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime
whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist
within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."
Jn 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
2 Pet 2:19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the
servants of corruption: for of whom a man is
overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
2. An employee serves because he needs to.
Rom 4:4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of
grace, but of debt.
Col 4:1a Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal;
Mal 3:5 And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift
witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and
against false swearers, and against those that oppress the
hireling in his wages,
1 Tim 5:18 For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that
treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.
1 Thess 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded
you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

A first grade teacher asked her students, "What do you do to help at home?"
One little girl said, "I dry the dishes." One of the boys said, "I sweep the
floor." Another one said, "I feed and water the dog."
Every student in the class had something to contribute except for one boy
sitting in the back. The teacher looked qt him asked, "What do you do to
help out at home?" He said, "I stay out of the way."

3. A child of God serves because he wants to.
I was a slave to sin, now I’m a servant to righteousness.
No man in this world attains to freedom from any slavery except by
entrance into some higher servitude. There is no such thing as an
entirely free man . Phillips Brooks
1 Sam 12:24 Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your
heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.
Josh 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you
this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers
served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the
Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house,
we will serve the LORD.
1 Chron 28:9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy
father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing
mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth
all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will
be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee
off for ever.
John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one
another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye
have love one to another.
John 15:17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.
Rom 12:10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love;
in honour preferring one another;
Col 3: 12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved,
bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness,
longsuffering;
Phil 2: 1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort
of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and
mercies, 2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the
same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be
done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let
each esteem other better than themselves. 4 Look not every man
on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. 5
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who,
being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal
with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon
him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Malachi 3:18 Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous
and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him
that serveth him not.
