Summary: A message for a burning desire of the church to get moving

Six things in Hell we need in the Church today

Luke 16:19-31

1. Lost People: Luke16: 23…read

Luke 14:23 And the Lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highway and hedges and

Compel them to come in, that my house may be full.

Compel: what means he used is not stated, but with God it is clear that He uses truth,

Exhortation, reproof, instruction, long suffering, love, meekness, gentleness,

Perserverance, and sometimes drastic measures to try turn people from hell, but He

Never forces anyone against there will.

2. Hypocrites, which is someone who pretends to be something or someone they are

really not.

Luke 16:.25…read

He thought because of his riches he was better than the beggar, because he had it

good, he may have even said he was better then the beggar

The poor man was not saved because he was poor, but because he received the Word

of God and Christ as his Savior

The rich man did not go to hell be cause he was rich, but because he refused the

Word of God and Christ as his Savior.

Hell is a place of torment, not a state or condition of life, but a real place.

There are some familiar faces in the flames… back to point #1 (lost people)

4. Glimpse of Heaven: Luke 16:.23 read

Tormented, knowing that he will never make heaven his home, and being able to see

The saints of God rest in the joy of the Lord.

5. Earnest Prayer: Luke 16:.24 …read

And he cried out and said…

He was devoted in his prayer time, continually, long moving prayers.

Prayers that will go unheard. And have no effect. Proverbs 1:24-33…read

6. Genuine Thirst Luke 16:.24…read

He had a genuine thirst for water and comfort, and not to see his family come there,

but to be with the beggar man, to make a change in his life and theirs.
