Why do we need to deal with these things while we are young?

Psychological studies establish that by age five a child has formed a fairly definite impression of himself. The same studies reveal that self-esteem is not closely related to social position, family work background, education or any combination of such factors. A young child sees himself from the reflections of those close to him, mainly his parents. How they react to his activities largely determines the self-image he builds.

A. Low self-esteem does not equal “humility”.

B. Low self-esteem spurns God with feelings of “inferiority”.

C. Low self-esteem is an expression of fear.

D. Low self-esteem emphasizes personal weakness & the strength of others.

E. Low self-esteem is a tool of Satan to keep people from serving God.

F. Low self-esteem may be caused by past sin.

Covey says all humans share four foundational needs in order to be fulfilled:

- To live

- To love

- To learn

- To leave a legacy

You will spend a lifetime growing into all that God says you are but it is important to lay the foundation of understanding this while you are still single!

3. LEARN TO DANCE.

Without God there are some things you cannot do.

Without you there are some things God will not do.

John 15:4-5

4Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

5"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Ezekiel 22:30-31

30 "I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none. 31 So I will pour out my wrath on them and consume them with my fiery anger, bringing down on their own heads all they have done, declares the Sovereign LORD.”

Number 14:36-45

36 So the men Moses had sent to explore the land, who returned and made the whole community grumble against him by spreading a bad report about it- 37 these men responsible for spreading the bad report about the land were struck down and died of a plague before the Lord . 38 Of the men who went to explore the land, only Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh survived.

39 When Moses reported this to all the Israelites, they mourned bitterly. 40 Early the next morning they went up toward the high hill country. "We have sinned," they said. "We will go up to the place the Lord promised."

41 But Moses said, "Why are you disobeying the Lord ’s command? This will not succeed! 42 Do not go up, because the Lord is not with you. You will be defeated by your enemies, 43 for the Amalekites and Canaanites will face you there. Because you have turned away from the Lord, he will not be with you and you will fall by the sword."

44 Nevertheless, in their presumption they went up toward the high hill country, though neither Moses nor the ark of the Lord ’s covenant moved from the camp. 45 Then the Amalekites and Canaanites who lived in that hill country came down and attacked them and beat them down all the way to Hormah.
