This sermon explores the faith and spiritual sensitivity of Simeon, encouraging us to seek Jesus in our lives and express joy and gratitude for salvation.

Introduction

Good morning, beloved family of God. It's a joy to gather together again in His presence, isn't it? To feel His love enveloping us, His grace washing over us, and His Word nourishing us. We are here to grow, to learn, to worship, and to be inspired by the Word of God.

Today, we turn our hearts and minds to the Gospel of Luke, specifically chapter 2, verses 25-32. In these verses, we meet a man named Simeon, a man who was spiritually sensitive, a man who saw the Savior, and a man who sang a song of salvation. Simeon, a righteous and devout man who was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ.

Simeon's Spiritual Sensitivity

Simeon's spiritual sensitivity was not something he was born with. It was not a gift that was bestowed upon him. It was a quality that he cultivated through a life of prayer, worship, and obedience to God. He spent time in God's presence, he sought God's will, and he followed God's guidance. His spiritual sensitivity was a product of his relationship with God.

This relationship with God is what allowed Simeon to recognize Jesus as the Messiah when he saw Him in the temple. Despite Jesus being just a baby, Simeon knew that this was the Savior he had been waiting for. He knew that this was the one who would bring consolation to Israel. He knew that this was the one who would be a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to God's people Israel.

Simeon's spiritual sensitivity is something we should all aspire to. It is something we should all strive for. It is something we should all seek to cultivate in our own lives. Like Simeon, we should seek to walk with God, to listen to the Holy Spirit, and to wait patiently for the fulfillment of God's promises. We should seek to recognize Jesus in our own lives, to praise God for His faithfulness, and to thank God for His salvation. In doing so, we can become more like Simeon. We can become more spiritually sensitive.
