Matthew 24:9-14

10 And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other.

11 And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people.

12 Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold.

13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. What will happen to Christians as a whole?

1. We will be arrested, persecuted and killed.

- We are blessed if we are persecuted. (Matthew 5:11)

Matthew 5:11

“God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers.

- We need to pray for our persecutors. (Matthew 5:44)

Matthew 5:44

But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!

2. We will be hated because of JESUS. (Matthew 10:22)

Matthew 10:22

And all nations will hate you because you are my followers. But everyone who endures to the end will be saved.

- the LORD is first to be hated. (John 15:18)

John 15:18

“If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first.

3. Many will turn away from the LORD, betray and hate each other. (Matthew 24:10)

Matthew 24:10

And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other.

4. Many false prophets will appear and will lead many people astray. (Matthew 24:11)

Matthew 24:11

And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people.

- Many false prophets will deceive many.

- False christs (Mark 13:22)

Mark 13:22

For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones.

- False teachers (2 Peter 2:1)

2 Peter 2:1

But there were also false prophets in Israel, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will cleverly teach destructive heresies and even deny the Master who bought them. In this way, they will bring sudden destruction on themselves.

5. Sin will be rampant everywhere, the love of many will grow cold. (Matthew 24:12)

Matthew 24:12

Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold.

- We need to win their souls. (Proverbs 11:30)

Proverbs 11:30

The seeds of good deeds become a tree of life; a wise person wins friends.

- Soul who sins will die (Ezekiel 18:4)

Ezekiel 18:4

For all people are mine to judge—both parents and children alike. And this is my rule: The person who sins is the one who will die.

6. Those who endure to the end will be saved (Matthew 24:13)

Matthew 24:13

But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

- Pursue endurance (1 Timothy 6:11)

1 Timothy 6:11

But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.

- Let GOD's Words encourage us to endure (Romans 15:4)

Romans 15:4

Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled.

7. Good news about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the world (Matthew 24:14)

Matthew 24:14

And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come.

- We see this happening today so His return is very, very soon.

- We are in the last days. (2 Timothy 3:1-5)

2 Timothy 3:1-5

1 You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times.

2 For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.

3 They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good.
