Youth Sermon: Signs in the Sky

Signs in the Sun, Moon, and Stars

You know how we love to stargaze, right? Well, imagine if the stars, the sun, and the moon were trying to tell us something. Sounds like a sci-fi movie, right? But guess what? Jesus actually said that there would be signs in the sun, moon, and stars before He comes back.

You know how we use our phones to send messages? Well, God used the stars to announce Jesus' birth, and He's using them again to signal His return. It's like God's cosmic text message to us!

Jesus actually said that there would be signs in the sun, moon, and stars before He comes back.

Solar and Lunar Eclipses

Ever seen a solar eclipse? It's when the sun goes dark for a bit. It's pretty cool, right? Well, these solar eclipses are like God's alerts for the nations. And lunar eclipses, those blood moons, are like God's notifications for Israel.

Remember that total solar eclipse in 2017? And there's another one coming in 2024. These aren't just cool celestial events. They're reminders that God's got everything under control and His promises are legit.

Stars Falling and Powers Shaken

Jesus also talked about stars falling from the sky. Could be meteor showers or comets. And something about the powers of the heavens being shaken. Sounds intense, right? But it's all part of the signs.

Keeping Watch

Now, Jesus didn't just drop these signs and leave us hanging. He gave us some heads up. He told us to keep watch for the signs, like we're waiting for that important text message.

It's like when you're waiting for your favorite band to drop their new album. You don't know the exact day and hour, but you're always on the lookout, right? That's how we should be about Jesus' return.

Being Active Servants

And here's the thing, Jesus wants us to be like the band's roadies, actively serving Him and sharing His good news. He's got a VIP pass for those who are doing their job when He returns.

So, what's our job? To be part of God's squad, loving and serving each other, and being faithful stewards of His grace.

Prayer

Jesus, help us to be on the lookout for Your return. Help us to be part of Your family, sharing Your love with others. May we be faithful roadies, eagerly waiting for Your return. In Your name, we pray. Amen.

And if you want to join Jesus' squad, just say this prayer with me: Jesus, I want to be part of Your squad. I invite You to be my Lord and live through me. I know I've messed up and I ask for Your forgiveness. I commit to live for You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Conclusion

Stay alert, love each other deeply, and use your gifts to serve others. Let everything we do bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. Amen.
