Encourages believers to find hope in God, live with eternal perspective, and respond to Jesus' call to discipleship with immediate obedience.

Introduction

Welcome, beloved family of God. It is a delight to gather together, whether in person or in spirit, to celebrate our faith and to seek wisdom from the Word of God. Isn't it a joy to know that no matter where we are, no matter what we are going through, we can always find comfort, guidance, and inspiration in the Scriptures?

Today, we turn our hearts and minds towards three important truths found in Psalm 62:5-12, 1 Corinthians 7:29-31, and Mark 1:14-20.

In these passages, we are reminded of the power of proclaiming the good news, the price of discipleship, and the pursuit of a new purpose. These are not just ancient words, but living truths that can transform our lives today.

Proclaiming the Good News

The Good News, as we understand it, is the heart of our faith. It is the message of God's love, grace, and salvation through Jesus Christ. It is the message that Jesus proclaimed when He began His ministry in Galilee, as we read in Mark 1:14-20. Jesus didn't just proclaim the Good News, He embodied it. He lived it out in His actions, His teachings, His miracles, and ultimately, His death and resurrection.

A reality to be lived: It is not just about believing in Jesus, but about following Him, about becoming His disciples, about living our lives in a way that reflects His love and grace. This is what it means to be a Christian. It is not just about going to church, reading the Bible, or praying. It is about living out the Good News in our everyday lives.

A message to be shared: Jesus didn't keep the Good News to Himself. He shared it with everyone He met. He called His disciples to do the same. He said, "Come, follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." This is our calling as Christians. We are called to share the Good News with others, to be fishers of men. We are called to reach out to those who are lost, to those who are hurting, to those who are in need, and to share with them the love, grace, and salvation that we have found in Jesus Christ.

For the whole world: It is not just for those who are already believers, but for those who are still searching. It is not just for those who are in the church, but for those who are outside the church. It is not just for those who are like us, but for those who are different from us. It is not just for those who are near, but for those who are far away. The Good News is for everyone, everywhere, at all times.

A mission: It is not just about what we believe, but about what we do. It is not just about our faith, but about our actions. It is not just about our words, but about our deeds. It is not just about our knowledge, but about our love. It is not just about our understanding, but about our compassion. It is not just about our theology, but about our service. The Good News is not just about proclaiming the message, but about living the mission.

A relationship: It is not just about knowing about God, but about knowing God. It is not just about learning about Jesus, but about following Jesus. It is not just about studying the Bible, but about living the Bible. It is not just about praying to God, but about listening to God. It is not just about worshiping God, but about serving God. The Good News is not just about our relationship with God, but about our relationship with others.

A challenge: It is not just about the hope of heaven, but about the reality of earth. It is not just about the future, but about the present. It is not just about what will be, but about what is. It is not just about the end, but about the beginning. It is not just about the destination, but about the journey. The Good News is not just about the promise of God, but about the challenge of God.

A responsibility: It is not just about receiving, but about giving. It is not just about being blessed, but about being a blessing. It is not just about being loved, but about loving. It is not just about being saved, but about serving. It is not just about being forgiven, but about forgiving. The Good News is not just about the gift of God, but about the responsibility of God.
