Summary: This is a short challenge on how to practically set Christ apart as Lord in our daily lives.

Short Challenge - Setting Apart Christ as Lord.

1 Peter 3:15 - Set apart Christ as Lord, in your hearts.

Our hearts encompass our desires, longings, affections - He wants to be the top desire. Ps.63:1,2 - David longed for God more than anything, knowing that His love was better than life itself.

Set apart means nothing competes with whatever is set apart. That’s what He desires - to be number one in my life - nothing else competing with Him.

Is He number one in our lives right now. Is connecting with Him our highest priority.

James 2:23 - Abraham was called a friend of God - Because - he connected with God constantly.

We too, can have that vibrant fellowship with God.

Foolish Things Lyrics: “Forgive me when my prayers come to you grosser than the things confessed, reeking with emptiness. Did I forget you were listening, could I deceive the one who’s given me my heart? forgive me when I come to pray just to get it done, before I run away from you. Forgive me when I’ve merely said the words. Did I forget what you’ve given me, did I forget you’re living in my heart?

Those lyrics are so challenging. The God of the universe wants to connect with me. Will I respond?

The Short Challenge: Set Him apart as number one this week.
