Summary: Is the Lord your shepherd…now?

Sheep Fold

Psalms 23

Is the Lord your shepherd…now?

Are you saved…are you sure.

Peter said make your calling and election sure.

We are lost without Christ, regardless of how good we are.

John 10: 9-16

Is Jesus Christ your shepherd?

Then you will be obedient to him and he will be Lord of your life.

John 11: 25-26 “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believeth thou this.”

Can we believe this?

Then we will live in Christ by living his words through our life.

John 8: 51 “Verily, verily I say unto you if a man keep these sayings of mine he shall never see death.”

Hear some of his sayings:

John 3: 5 “Except a man be born of water and of the spirit he cannot enter the kingdom of heaven.”

Mark 16: 16 “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, but…”

Acts 2: 41 Consider what happened on the day of Pentecost.

Acts 8: 37-38 Phillip and eunuch

Acts 22: 16 Consider what Annias told Saul

The sheep love the good shepherd and hear his voice because the good shepherd loves his sheep so much that he lay down his life for them.

Do we love Him?

John 14: 15 “If ye love me keep my commandments.”

John 14: 23 “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word,”

Have you been buried with him in baptism and received his spirit and arose to walk in newness of life?

Rom 6: 3-6

Rom 12: 1 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.”

Is Christ Lord and shepherd of your life now?

Then you don’t fear any evil, not even death.

Consider the Lilies of the field…sparrow.

Rom 8: 28 “…All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.”

Have we wandered astray?

The good shepherd never leaves us, but we, like sheep, go astray.

We stray from his fold into the world of sin again.

When we have fallen away…We cannot say it is God’s fault, nor can we say it is the preacher’s, or any one else’s fault, but our own.

James 1: 12-16

Christ loved us so that though we crucified him afresh and put him open to shame…He seeks us, to bring us back to the fold of God.

Luke 15: 4 “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?

Is Christ shepherd and Lord of your life?

I Peter 2: 24-25

Rev 3: 19 “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten, be zealous therefore and repent,”
