Hebrews 4:4 (Amplified Bible)

4:4 For in a certain place He has said this about the seventh day: And God rested on the seventh day from all His works.

I rest on GOD every seventh day in His House.

A. Certain place when He said this

"For in a certain place He has said this about the seventh day:"

Genesis 2:2 (Amplified Bible)

2:2 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.

Exodus 20:11 (Amplified Bible)

20:11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. That is why the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it [set it apart for His purposes].

Exodus 31:17 (Amplified Bible)

31:17 It is a sign between Me and the Israelites forever; for in six days the Lord made the heavens and earth, and on the seventh day He ceased and was refreshed.

GOD completed, consumed and finished His work on the seventh day, for GOD knows that we will do the same. Work or activities here on earth are under our subjection, not the other way around.

Matthew 12:8 (Amplified Bible)

12:8 For the Son of Man is Lord [even] of the Sabbath.

But look at the rich people, they are "slaves" of their work, they don't even have time to talk to their children or spend time with their children or lead family devotions because of their so-called work.

B. GOD rested on the seventh day from all His works

"And God rested on the seventh day from all His works."

We choose when to stop from work and to rest in GOD. The true rest is in His Words and His Presence.

Matthew 11:28-29 (Amplified Bible)

11:28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]

11:29 Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.

Time can be a good tool to those who know that their rest is on GOD.
