SEVEN THINGS GOD WAS TO DAVID

2 Samuel 22

1 And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:

2 And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;

3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

4 I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

5 When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid;

6 The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;

7 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

8 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.

9 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

10 He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.

1. He was David’s Rock

Ver.2 And he said, The LORD is my rock

We need something solid to stand on.

We need a strong rock that can not be moved

We need a unbreakable foundation .

2. God was David’s fortress

Ver.2 And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress,

We need a strong force behind us

We need a camp we feel safe in

We a strong hold

3.GOD WAS DAVIDS DELIVERER

ver.2 And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;

God had delivered David so many times

We had to have a deliverer ( JESUS CHRIST )

Some one had to save us from Hell (Christ did.)

Deliverance came from him through his son.

4. God was David’s shield

Ver.3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield,

A cover for his life guards him from harm

David was covered by the Lord

God was a strong shield for

We are covered by the Holy Spirit he is our shield.

5.God was David’s tower.

Ver.3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower,

God was bigger than all his problems

God was above all sin.

God was over all his enemies

We build weak but God builds strong.

6. God was David’s refuge

3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge,

He was a retreat from the wars of the world

A true place of safety

A place for prayer and togetherness

A place of time spent with God

7. God was David’s Salvation

3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

He knew with out God he would be lost for ever.

He knew God loved him.

He knew God would be near him

In life sometimes we just have to be alone with God

When we are we can see the true Love he has for us.
