Seven Saying From The Cross-Number 7-Into Your Hands. (Hix)

Luke 23:46-And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’” Having said this, He breathed His last.

Definitions For Commit- 1-to give in trust or charge.

2-to pledge (oneself) to a position on an issue or question

3-to commit oneself to a promise

4-to entrust, especially for safekeeping

5-to send into a battle

When He was a boy, He told His parents that:

Luke 2:49-And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”

In the sermon on the mount, He speaks of the “Father” seventeen times

Jesus refers to the Father 44 times in John chapters 14-17

Jesus asked His Father to forgive while He was on the cross and now He commits His Spirit to His Father.

Into Your Hands. . .whose hands and what kind of hands?

Matthew 4:5-6-Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’”

NOT ANGELS HANDS

Matthew 17:22-Now while they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men,

Matthew 26:45-Then He came to His disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Matthew 26:67-Then they spat in His face and beat Him; and others struck Him with the palms of their hands,

NOT IN THE HANDS OF MEN

He had placed His life, His body into the hands of men, they didn’t take it, He gave it!

But now He gives His Spirit into the hands of His Father!!

When I committed my whole life to His hands, He saved my soul! He gave me a new walk and a new talk and a new life and one day He will give me a new home!

When I committed my grandson into His hands, that 1 pound 8 ounce baby, who will be 10 years old in November, he lives without a trac in his throat, the doctor said he might not never walk or talk, and yet he lives today without any signs of physical damage of being born premature!

When I commended my friends and family into my Father’s hands and by the power of God, He has healed, because when the test result come back, there was no cancer there, no infection there, there was no lump there!!

Then there have been times when I have commended my friends and family into my Father’s hands, and by His grace, He has taken them out of this old world, away from suffering and pain and taken them to their heavenly reward!

So you can’t go wrong when you commit yourself or others in the hands of your heavenly Father!

So who do you want to trust with your life?

Will you pledge your life to Him?

Will you lean on the promises that are provided in His word!

Will you send God into battle on your behalf!
