Seven Open Doors that God has for us!

In this sermon outline we list seven of the open doors that God has for our life and personal ministries. We know God can make a way for us when there seems to be no way. We must remember that when God opens a door He also gives us strength to go through it. He never gives us more than we can bear. When He closes a door, we should not try to force our way through. He knows what is best for us.

(When one door closes, another one opens, but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one that has opened for us. Alexander Graham Bell)

(John 10:1 KJV) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

(John 10:2 KJV) But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

(John 10:7 KJV) Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

(John 10:9 KJV) I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

I. The Door of Freedom can be opened in the worst of problems.

(Acts 16:26 KJV) And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

A. God wants us to be free from:

1. Sin. This is the most important. His blood washes us of all our sins.

2. Temptation. He never lets more come our way than we can bear.

3. Sickness. He still answers prayer for the sick.

4. Poverty: He became poor for us that we might have abundant life. John 10:10, 3 John 2, Phil 4:19.

II. The Door for a effectual Work for God.

(1 Cor 16:9 KJV) For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.

A. The work of the ministry can be difficult, but it is a great door to the blessing of self and for others.

B. God wants us to not only have faith but also have works with our faith. The book of James makes this strong.

1. We seek faith by works, and works should be seen by the faith that motivates us.

III. God’s Open Door of Preaching

(2 Cor 2:12 KJV) Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ’s gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord,

A. God wants not only to direct preachers but all His children and open doors of witness for Him.

B. We must be willing to walk through.

IV. The Door of Witness

(Col 4:3 KJV) Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:

A. God can keep the door open even if we weaken.

Rev 3:8 KJV) I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

B. The commission was given to the whole church to witness.

V. The Door of Opportunity and none can shut it.

(Rev 3:8 KJV) I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

A. Are we willing to keep His Word?

B. If we say we have not strength, what can we do?

1. Keep His Word.

2. Keep His Name

3. Claim Philippians 4:13 (KJV) I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. and Romans 8:31 (KJV) What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

VI. The Door of Worship

(Rev 4:1 KJV) After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: .............

A. We need to walk through this door daily.

(Eph 5:19 KJV) Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

VII. The Door of Salvation is always OPEN!

(Rev 3:20 KJV) Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

What a blessing to have read this sermon as I ushered new year 2020. May the Lord open my spiritual eyes that I may see and walk through the open doors He has opened for me and my children
