Seven Ingredients In Parenting

There are seven things that our kid’s need in growing up. These are the seven things that God does to you and me as our heavenly Father.

The Bible says that our kids need is:

I Compassion (1 John 4:7)

-"Practive loving each other, for love comes from God."

Children understand love in three ways:

a. Affection

b. Attention

c. Affirmation

II. Counsel (Deut. 6:7)

-"You much teach this commandment to your children and talked about them when you are at home or out for a walk; at bedtime and the first thing in the morning."

III. Correction (Prov. 13:24, 19:18)

-"Correct your children while there is hope; do not let them destroy themselves." (Prov. 19:18)

-"Don’t use harmful words...only use helpful words that build up..." (Eph 4:29 (GN)

IV. Confidence (Col. 3:21)

-"Don’t scold your children so much that they become discouraged and quit trying."

V. Celebration (Eccl. 11:8)

-"People ought to enjoy everyday of their lives, no matter how long they live."

VI. Challenges (Luke 16)

-They need challenges that help them develop responsibility.

-"Whoever can be trusted with a little can also be trusted with a lot...And it you can’t be trusted with the things that belong to someone else, who will give you things of your own?"

VII. Consistency (Ps. 145:13, 17)

-"The Lord is faithful to all his promises...and fair in all that he does."
