Setting It, To the Stone. HHM Pastor Jim Parisi Dec 15, 2002
Isaiah 28:16- 17 16 Therefore thus says the Lord God: "Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation, A tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; Whoever believes will not act hastily. 17 Also I will make justice the measuring line, And righteousness the plummet;
16 "Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation, A tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; Whoever believes will not act hastily.
In my church. A foundation - Upon which I will build my church. A stone - The Messiah. Tried –
Which I have tried, and approved as every way sufficient. Fired and strong
Acceptable before the Father
Setting the Cornerstone into place… How to
Effect of setting the Stone in properly…. Pros and Cons
Building a nation on a proper foundation
17 Also I will make justice the measuring line, And righteousness the plummet;
Line and Plummet level and plum are always accurate… can’t fool the principles of nature
All structures and construction is built upon this principle
In a Christian understanding
Line… Justice = Honesty = integrity… Fairness
Plummet…. righteousness = Morality impartiality virtue
Our Governments and many others of this world are set to this standard
When you are tried and true God can start to use you.
God can use you for His Glory and Purpose
When you can line up and know who He is He can set a foundation upon you to build a better life or ministry
Let’s look into Peter’s life and we all know Peter wasn’t perfect
But the Lord Loved Peter and could use Him because He know how to Line up with Jesus
Matthew 16:13-20 13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, "Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?" 14 So they said, "Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets." 15 He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" 16 Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." 17 Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
……on this rock I will build My church…
…and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

Deuteronomy 27: 1 - 1 Now Moses, with the elders of Israel, commanded the people, saying: "Keep all the commandments which I command you today. 2 And it shall be, on the day when you cross over the Jordan to the land which the Lord your God is giving you, that you shall set up for yourselves large stones, and whitewash them with lime. 3 You shall write on them all the words of this law, when you have crossed over, that you may enter the land which the Lord your God is giving you, ’a land flowing with milk and honey,’ just as the Lord God of your fathers promised you. 4 Therefore it shall be, when you have crossed over the Jordan, that on Mount Ebal you shall set up these stones, which I command you today, and you shall whitewash them with lime. 5 And there you shall build an altar to the Lord your God, an altar of stones; you shall not use an iron tool on them. 6 You shall build with whole stones the altar of the Lord your God, and offer burnt offerings on it to the Lord your God.
Who wants to be the next rock that God can use to build something great upon?
Does your stone need adjustment today?
