How to set my life straight? You can do it by God's words, by following this simple things:
1. Pro. 4:23 - Guard your thought patterns. All we think is what we are.
Pro 4:23 Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life. (ESV)
(GNB) Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts. - Pro. 4:23
Pro 14:30 A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.
Pro 14:33 Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.
Pro 15:13 A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
Pro 4:23 And keep watch over your heart with all care; so you will have life.
Our lifestyle starts with how we think we will run our lifestyle. If we think we are failures, then it failures will follow us. If we think we are successful, then success is before and after our paths. We will be successful of how we think.
2. Pro. 4:23 - Guard the wellspring or source of your lifestyle.
Pro 4:23 Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.
Who do we copy? Who do we imitate? Imitate God, Christ and the Holy Spirit and your lifestyle will be good. Don't forget to imitate your leaders too as they imitate Christ.
3Jn 1:11 My loved one, do not be copying what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God: he who does evil has not seen God.
2Th 3:7 For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us, because we were not idle when we were with you, (ESV)
Heb 13:7 Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.
1Co 11:1 Imitate me, then, just as I imitate Christ. (GNB) (Apostle Paul said)
3. Pro 4:24 - Don't speak of ungodly things.
Good real people speak what they think, and think what they say. No hypocrisy within their hearts and mouth. Is it necessary for me to tell you that avoid people that talk like this?
Pro 4:24 Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you.
Psa 28:3 Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity; who speak peace with their neighbors, yet evil is in their hearts.
Jer 8:6 I listened and heard, but they did not speak right; no man repented of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? Everyone turned in their own courses, as the horse rushes into the battle.
Jer 9:5 And everyone will deceive his neighbor and will not speak the truth; they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and they weary themselves to commit iniquity.
Pro 2:12 delivering you from the way of evil, from men of perverted speech,
Pro 8:13 The fear of the LORD is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate.
Pro 16:27 A worthless man plots evil, and his speech is like a scorching fire.
Tit 2:8 and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.
Psa 10:7 Their speech is filled with curses, lies, and threats; they are quick to speak hateful, evil words.
4. Pro 4:24 - Remove lies from your lips.
We live nowadays in a world that lies is the lifestyle. They call evil as good, good as bad. Those who tell lies, white, grey, black or blue are deceivers themselves and they only deceive themselves.
Pro 4:24 Never say anything that isn't true. Have nothing to do with lies and misleading words. (GNB)
Exo 20:16 Do not tell lies about others. (CEV)
Lev 19:11 Do not steal or tell lies or cheat others. (CEV)
Num 23:19 God is no mere human! He doesn't tell lies or change his mind. God always keeps his promises. (CEV)
Deu 5:20 Do not tell lies about others. (CEV)
Job 6:30 I know right from wrong, and I am not telling lies. (CEV)
Zep 3:13 The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity nor speak lies, and a deceitful tongue shall not be found in their mouth; for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.
5. Pro 4:25 - Set your focus on the future.
The LORD has a good future in store for us, focus on the long term, focus on the future. Live for GOD not for yourself. Focus on the future rewards not on the current pains.
