VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. The priests went always into the first room - The Holy Place

"Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle,"

Luke 1:8-11 (New King James Version)

1:8 So it was, that while he was serving as priest before God in the order of his division,

1:9 according to the custom of the priesthood, his lot fell to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.

1:10 And the whole multitude of the people was praying outside at the hour of incense.

1:11 Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right side of the altar of incense.

Exodus 30:7-8 (New King James Version)

30:7 Aaron shall burn on it sweet incense every morning; when he tends the lamps, he shall burn incense on it.

30:8 And when Aaron lights the lamps at twilight, he shall burn incense on it, a perpetual incense before the Lord throughout your generations.

Exodus 27:21 (New King James Version)

27:21 In the tabernacle of meeting, outside the veil which is before the Testimony, Aaron and his sons shall tend it from evening until morning before the Lord. It shall be a statute forever to their generations on behalf of the children of Israel.

The priests in those days can only minister in the Holy Place, but not in the Most Holy Place, we are here on earth right now and we minister here on behalf of CHRIST, and this earth is the Holy Place, where people can be brought to us, or rather as living sacrifices we can be brought before them, doing our ministires to them.

Most of the time, they deny us, and persecute us, not wanting us to "rule" over them. But that's a fact, the child of the slave will persecute the child of the free.

B. The priests accomplish the service of GOD in the first room

"accomplishing the service of God."

"performance of their ritual acts of worship"

Service of GOD as mentioned in King James version but in Amplified Bible, it was said that it was "ritual acts of worship". As priests they can only perform or do their duties on the Holy Place not on the Most Holy Place where only the high priest were allowed to enter.

Today, the Most Holy Place resembles Heaven, and in our body the Most Holy Place is our spirit. As we are the tabernacle of GOD consisting of three parts like in the tabernacle, (1) First part is the body, which was resembled by the outer court of the Tabernacle in the Old Testament, (2) Second part is the soul, which was resembled by the Holy Place and (3) third part, the spirit which is the Most Holy Place.

1 Corinthians 3:16 (Amplified Bible)

3:16 Do you not discern and understand that you [the whole church at Corinth] are God’s temple (His sanctuary), and that God’s Spirit has His permanent dwelling in you [to be at home in you, collectively as a church and also individually]?

2 Corinthians 6:15-16 (Amplified Bible)

6:15 What harmony can there be between Christ and Belial [the devil]? Or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever?

6:16 What agreement [can there be between] a temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God; even as God said, I will dwell in and with and among them and will walk in and with and among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
