Lent 5 (B). Christ gave his life as a ransom, freeing us not only from sin, but from our own flesh and the power of the devil. We are now free to serve others, as we live under Him in His kingdom.

  • What Kind Of Ground Am I?

Contributed by John Lowe on Oct 28, 2015

Are you rootless? Those in this category get excited for a while when they hear the word. But, when it gets tough, they aren’t...because they haven’t developed the capacity to hang in there by holding onto at least what they know for now.

10-7-04 What Kind of Ground Am I? Text: Luke 8:4-15; Hebrews 5:11-14 Our text is Luke 8:4-15, and later we will use a passage in Hebrews; Hebrews 5:11-14. Listen as I read God’s Word. • A Bibilical Deacon

Contributed by Dwight Kennedy on Feb 22, 2018
    based on 1 rating

I want us to look at what the BIBLE gives as qualifications of a deacon. Also, the question sometimes comes up, "Do we really need deacons now?" I believe that stems from a misunderstanding of what a deacon should actually be.

The church has many positions that are filled with Godly men and Godly woman, but the Bible only teaches of two offices: 1) Bishop, Elder, Overseer, or Pastor, and 2) Deacon. Churches today are filled with men who may hold the TITLE of deacon, but their lives disqualify them from actually being a ...read more

  • The Gospel: Changing Lives Series

Contributed by Brad Beaman on Aug 30, 2015
     | 7,169 views

Paul had a radical change by the gospel. His life was so radically changed that it was beyond what many could believe. Paul who had previously been the most fearsome persecutor of Christians is now preaching the gospel. He met Jesus.

The elements of a testimony in Christ can be divided into three sections. First is describes what life was like before coming to Christ. The second part is describing just how it happened at the time of meeting Christ. Then finally is describes what life was like after coming to Christ. When you ...read more

  • A Journey Towards Transformation: The Damascus Road (Newly Update 3/23/24) Series

Contributed by Dennis Lee on Apr 25, 2016
    based on 5 ratings

In a moment, Paul was transformed, where the confronter became the confronted. The hunter became the hunted. The accuser was now the accused. And while he thought he had the authority, in that moment he found himself powerless when he heard the true voice of authority.

A Journey Towards Transformation?“The Damascus Road” Acts 9:1-19 Thinking about this whole idea that we’ll be exploring in our Easter message, “God Will Make a Way,” the concept of the various roads that both Jesus and His disciples took up to and following His resurrection came to mind. We’ll ...read more

    based on 4 ratings

The message of the gospel defeats Satan. We don’t preach ‘your best life now.’ We preach Christ crucified – the only way to salvation. The Power of the gospel exposes, veils and reveals Christ crucified.

Opening illustration: Some things just don’t seem to fit in our modern 21st century. A tribe of headhunters is one of them. Yet there is one such group of people whose story is worth telling. A tribe living high in the Philippine mountains, a 3-day’s walk from the nearest city, has ...read more

  • Jesus, The Teacher Series

Contributed by Tim Smith on Mar 17, 2011
    based on 1 rating

When Jesus taught, he did so in parables. Now this was not unique in Jesus’ day for most rabbis or teachers taught in parables. The Greek word for parable means “thrown along something else.” Parables are about comparisons.

Jesus, the Teacher Mark 4:1-20 For the past several weeks, we’ve been looking at the Gospel of Mark through two questions: “Who is Jesus?” and “What meaning does he have for our lives?” We’ve learned that Jesus came to preach that the kingdom of God is near, he ...read more
