We don't talk enough about Jesus the bridegroom. It's one of Jesus' most wonderful titles. It helps us to understand who he is, the kind of relationship he wants with us, and who we are.

Jesus is asked why his disciples don’t engage in the expected fasting like John’s and the Pharisees. Answer: his presence is the arrival of God as bridegroom bringing salvation to Israel, so fasting would be inappropriate.
