Faith or the lack of faith is the difference between heaven and hell. There is no way to over-emphasize the necessity and value of faith. Charles Wesley wrote, "Faith, mighty faith the promise sees, and rests on that alone; Laughs at impossibilities, and says it shall be done."

The dying thief on the cross next to Jesus made one request to be remembered, and Jesus responded to that by promising him that he would be joining Jesus that very day in paradise. Look to Jesus and your future is always bright.

Had you gone to Jerusalem that day so long ago, and had you gone just outside the wall to the north, out through the Damascus gate, there you would have seen a rocky hill. And on that hill, you would have seen three crosses, with the men on those crosses.

Today, we both celebrate and mourn the loss of our friend, Jim. A great father and husband as well as a pillar of our church for many years.
