The Trinity is the doctrine we all believe as Christians but never discuss. Either we all understand it, and therefore no discussion is needed, or none of us understands it, and therefore no discussion is possible. The illustration of H20 helps me understand this theological truth.

John places this historical moment in the life of Jesus not during Holy Week, as in Matthew, Mark and Luke. Why? Jesus is proclaiming that He is God’s touchstone on earth, no longer the stone altar of sacrifice. Jesus is replacing the “holy of holies”. He is replacing the Jerusalem temple.
