Summary: Those who call themselves Christian today often seek an experience rather than seeking God. An experience can be had quickly on Sunday morning, seeking God requires great sacrifice.

I. When should Christians seek God? (v.6)

A. Psa 63:1 A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

B. We should seek God early or first.

C. Before we get pulled away form God by the world.

II. How should I seek God? (v.11)

A. Deu 4:29 But from there you will seek the LORD your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul.

B. Those who call themselves Christians these days are not seeking God they are seeking and experience.

C. We should seek God with every fiber of our being.

D. We should make any and all sacrifices to seek God.

E. Seeking God should be more important than breathing.

III. What does it look like when we have found God? (vs.18-19)

A. Mat_10:38 And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.

B. We cannot desire to make sacrifices unless we have first sought out God.

C. If the world gets a hold of us first, it is unlikely we will give our hearts to God.

D. Mat_6:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
