SEE GODS DELIVERANCE
DELIVERANCE COMES AFTER THE TROUBLE
Before there can be deliverance there has to be trouble. We want deliverance but we don’t want the trouble. Let’s look at Exodus 5:1 – 6:1.
God had told Moses earlier that he had seen the misery of His people and he was concerned about their suffering. God said, “So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians.” He also told Moses that He was going to rescue them but he didn’t tell them that there was going to be trouble first and he didn’t tell Him how he was going to rescue them.
I don’t know what Moses had in mind but from his reaction I don’t think he had this in mind. God you haven’t rescued them at all! Moses is upset, angry, frustrated that all this is happening this way. He doesn’t understand it and obviously he wants God to do something about it.
Moses has questions; mainly Why have you done this? Is this why you sent me?
Gods answer; now you will see what I will do and it will happen because of my mighty hand.
Many times we too have trouble in our lives and what do we want? Gods deliverance. We want it to end! We like Moses get angry, frustrated, upset and filled with questions. Gods answer is Himself. You will see what I will do and it will happen because of Me.
Pick whatever you want to end in your life and you must decide to wait on God, trust Him and in His deliverance. God will deliver according to His plans. Another example is Joseph.
Joseph had no idea that the reason why God had allowed him to be sent to prison was to save lives in the future. He endured all this trouble (13 years in prison!) and God had purpose in it. Look at what he told his brothers.
(Gen 45:7 NIV) But God sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance.
What was God working on while everyone was going through all this trouble? Saving peoples lives. We must learn to handle the trouble so we can see the deliverance. How do we handle it?
BE FAITHFUL DURING THE TROUBLE
How is faithfulness expressed in times that you have trouble?
(Exo 14:13 NIV) Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.
Don’t let your emotions keep you from being faithful. Gods people were tempted to go back to Egypt and submit again to there masters. Some would have let there emotions get ahold of them and separated themselves from God, their family, their people etc.
We can’t let anything separate us from Christ! It doesn’t matter what type of trouble we must hold on to Jesus! Paul had deep conviction in this area.
Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? Rom 8:36 As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."
Rom 8:37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Rom 8:38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, Rom 8:39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Shall trouble separate you from the love of Christ. No. What will trouble separate you from? Often times trouble causes us to lose faith. Trouble causes us to stop speaking, stop giving, wanting to cut and run. We separate from faith and start doubting evening questioning God! No matter what we must decide to TRUST HIM TOTALLY.
Esther was faced with extreme difficulty for herself and her people and she came to a resolve to do Gods will. She was warned with the following words.
(Est 4:14 NIV) For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?"
Esther came remained faithful and saw Gods deliverance!! Praise God that she was faithful!!!
By standing firm the Israelites also saw the deliverance of God. They saw it and for some it built their faith in God. Seeing Gods deliverance is supposed to build your faith. Are you seeing the deliverance of God? Look around and see what God is doing. Don’t miss it. Take time to see what God is doing and praise Him for it. May God help you to be faithful and trust Him no matter what difficult situations you face.
