*OASIS WORD FOR TODAY*
Two different Hebrew words are used to express the idea of "seeking" the LORD in this verse.
The first word is "darash", which means
"Searching, investigating, inquiring, requiring (Strong’s 1875).
The second word is bakash, which means to request something desired. It is to seek, but it is seeking to find and take hold of something.
To seek the Lord is to seek His presence. “Presence” is a common translation of the Hebrew word “face.”
We are to search diligently and wholeheartedly for the face of God. We are to search and inquire through His Word (The Holy Scriptures) and constant prayers daily. We are to desire Him through the individual and corporate fellowship with Him in His Word, Worship, and prayer.
"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you..." Acts 1:8 (KJV)
The presence of the Lord is the Holy Spirit. We are also told to seek His strength and pray continually. The Holy Spirit is the might of God. He is a carrier of God's presence and vestment.
Therefore, to seek God's strength is to rely on the Holy Spirit to fill us with His strength (power/anointing) daily through prayer.
As His children, we are helpless, hopeless, and useless without the daily help of the Holy Spirit.
