Satan, Lucifer, Devil, no matter how you say it. It's not good.

I believe lots of Folks have a misconception of who Satan really is. Satan is real. Satan is a part of our everyday life while we are in this flesh like it or not. Most of the time our imagination of things we don't really understand becomes distorted because of not knowing the truth. Where do we get the truth? From the Bible of course.

Two boys were walking home from Sunday school after hearing a strong preaching on the Devil. One boy said to the other, "What do you think about all this Satan stuff?" The other boy replied, "Well, you know how Santa Claus turned out. It's probably just your Dad.

People's beliefs concerning Satan range from a little red guy with horns who sits on your shoulder urging you to sin, to an expression used to describe the image of evil. The Bible, however, gives us a clear portrait of who Satan is and how he af-fects our lives. Put simply, the Bible defines Satan as an angelic being who fell from his position in heaven due to sin and is now completely opposed to God, doing all in his power to prevent or hinder God's purposes.

Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

Ezekiel 28:12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

Satan was created as a holy angel. Bible describes Satan as having been created a cherubim, apparently the highest created angel. He became arrogant in his beauty and status and decided he wanted to sit on a throne above that of God.

Isaiah 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God:

Satan’s pride led to his fall.

Satan became the ruler of this world and the prince of the power of the air according to Ephesians 2:2. His very name means “adversary” or “one who opposes.” Another of his titles, the devil, means “slanderer.

Even though he was cast out of heaven, he still seeks to elevate his throne above God. He counterfeits all that God does, hoping to gain the worship of the world and encourage opposition to God's kingdom.

He will always imitate God but, he can never duplicate our Lord.

Satan is the ultimate source behind every false cult and world religion. Satan will do anything and everything in his power to oppose God and those who follow God. But, Satan’s destiny is sealed....an eternity in the lake of fire. Revelation 20:10.

There is always that age old question why doesn't God just destroy Satan because, after all its Satan that makes our life mi-serable many times, in those trials and troubles. Bible says in Psalm 18:30 As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.

Could this be the answer? Gods way is perfect, Gods love is perfect. (he is a buckler to all those that trust in him) A buck-ler is a piece of armor that protected the heart in battle against the enemy. Gods protection from Satan destroying us could be compared to us protecting our children or grandchildren.

They may not understand at the moment but, as they mature they see the love that we have for them because we have been there to protect and love them.

God is always our protector but, He showed His love for us by giving His only Son as a sacrifice so that we may live.
