Summary: To whom does salvation belong to?

“Whosoever”

Acts 10:34-44

As we continue our walk through Acts, we are reminded of the Gospel message and to the extent that this message is to reach.

Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

Peter was also given a lesson in Acts 10:9-16 about the Gospel message to the whole world.

Peter went with the men who came to get Peter and is now standing among a crowd of gentiles Acts 10:33 “Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.”

I. The Truth Of Whosoever

Acts 10:34-36 “Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. 36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)”

Is no respecter of persons - The word used here denotes “the act of showing favor to one on account of rank, family, wealth, or partiality arising from any cause.”

How easy it is to become bias against someone because of how they dress, or how they walk, or even the color of their skin.

But NOT God!

The same word of salvation that was sent through the children of Israel is the same message to you and me.

John 3:17 “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

You see, the world is already condemned and judged because of sin; so Jesus was not here to pronounce judgment but rather to offer a way of escape from judgment.

II. The Proclamation Of Whosoever

Acts 10:37-38 “That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached; 38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”

Published - to make known or in this case rumors

Rumors that Jesus was anointed by the Holy Ghost and was given power to do good.

This would lead you to believe that Jesus was not GOD.

But the truth is; Jesus is always God and when the Holy Spirit came down it was to confirm that God the Father was pleased.

The miracles were given to show to the Jews that God was in the ministry of Jesus.

1 Corinthians 1:22 “For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:”

How God anointed ... - That is, set him apart to this work, and was with him, acknowledging him as the Messiah (declared him to be the Messiah).

III. The Reason Of The Whosoever

Acts 10:39-41 “And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: 40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly; 41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.”

And we are witnesses of all things,.... Peter, and the rest of the apostles, were witnesses, even eyewitnesses, of Christ's going about from place to place, and of the good he did everywhere, and of the miracles which he did.

whom they slew and hanged on a tree; whom the Jews put to death.

Vs. 40 “Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;”

There is a great deal said about this resurrection… Did God raise Jesus up; did the Holy Spirit raise Jesus up, or perhaps Jesus himself raised Himself up….. YES

There is scripture for each but since they are all God manifested in three (3) persons, the answer is YES!

1 Corinthians 15:12-14 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: 14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.”

Without a resurrection there can be NO salvation!

IV. The Command Of The Whosoever

Acts 10:42-43 “And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. 43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.”
