A rallying cry for young Christians to stand up and make a positive impact in their surroundings.

Introduction

There is a call for Christian youths to arise and make a mark on their context. Today, we will explore the story of Josiah from the Bible and draw lessons for our own lives. Let us examine how we can respond to the challenges in our society and take our rightful place as young Christians.

Observation

Josiah lived in a time when the people had turned away from God. The context was filled with injustice, immorality, and idol worship. Similarly, our society today faces issues such as crime, violence, family disorder, and moral depravity. In this context, God is calling us, the young generation, to rise up and make a difference.

Why do I need to arise?

We need to arise because our context requires someone to stand up and declare Christ. As young people, we are called to be the salt and light of the world. Jesus said in Matthew 5:13-14, "You are the salt of the earth... You are the light of the world." We cannot hide our faith; we must let our light shine bright. It is time to take action and make a change in our society.

What am I arising from?

Josiah arose from a context of shame and wickedness. He turned away from moral depravity, idolatry, immorality, and sacrificial murders. Similarly, we need to arise from complacency, indifference, and injustice. We must not just talk about the problems; we must actively work towards solutions.

What am I arising to do?

Josiah took steps to bring about change in his nation. At a young age, he sought God and desired His direction. We too must hunger and thirst for God, seeking His guidance in our lives. Josiah purged major areas of idolatry and wickedness, and we must do the same in our society. We need to break down the idols and images that lead people astray.

Furthermore, Josiah purified the land and the temple. He discovered the book of the law and was convicted by its words. Similarly, we must read and understand God's Word, allowing it to guide our actions. The Bible offers a direct plan for us to follow, and we must align our lives with its teachings. We need to renew our commitment to live righteously before God.

Conclusion

In conclusion, we must rise up as young Christians and make a difference in our society. Just as Josiah took action to bring about change, we too must see the problems, seek God, and start the process for transformation. Let us stand for godly principles and stay the course, following the guidance of God's Word. Together, we can make a lasting impact and bring about positive change in our world.
