VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Riches comes from the LORD

"The Lord makes poor and makes rich;"

Deuteronomy 8:17-18 (Amplified Bible)

8:17 And beware lest you say in your [mind and] heart, My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.

8:18 But you shall [earnestly] remember the Lord your God, for it is He Who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

Psalms 102:10 (Amplified Bible)

102:10 Because of Your indignation and Your wrath, for You have taken me up and cast me away.

Illustration:

I know a woman of GOD who is hot in serving the LORD as a ministry leader but his husband is born again yet never attends any Sunday services. The blessings continues on her husband and promoted to high position, but still his husband's reason is he needs to take care of people entrusted under him that's why he can't go to church. He's already promoted and yet never learned to give thanks to the LORD by merely his attendance in church every Sunday, He forgot that the blessing of the LORD made him rich.

Please kindly remember that your riches and promotion came from the LORD, apart from the LORD you are nothing. Remember to spend more time with the LORD and not in your work. Don't steal the time and the day that belongs to the LORD.

John 3:27 (Amplified Bible)

3:27 John answered, A man can receive nothing [he can claim nothing, he can take unto himself nothing] except as it has been granted to him from heaven. [A man must be content to receive the gift which is given him from heaven; there is no other source.]

John 15:5 (Amplified Bible)

15:5 I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.

Psalms 75:6 (Amplified Bible)

75:6 For not from the east nor from the west nor from the south come promotion and lifting up.

The word "rich" here means to accumulate. It means while in this world, you accumulate properties, lands, houses and lots, money, cars, name it, you will accumulate it. Only the LORD can do this to a person, that's why we don't spend much time in our work and with our boss, we spend much, much time with the LORD because the LORD is both our Blessor and Blessing of the LORD that made us truly rich. There's a teaching before that says "spend time with the Blessor not with the blessing" but it's both JESUS: Blessor and the Blessing of the LORD so we spend time with JESUS.

Psalms 37:4 (Amplified Bible)

37:4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart.

Being rich or poor in this life only comes from the LORD, promotion comes from the LORD. No work is mentioned because our work and job here on earth is give glory, honor, praise/thanksgiving to our real Boss - the LORD JESUS CHRIST. When we go to our workplace, we do this and serve GOD from our heart and not men.

1 Samuel 12:24 (Amplified Bible)

12:24 Only fear the Lord and serve Him faithfully with all your heart; for consider how great are the things He has done for you.
