Psalm 85 Revival Praying

1. The Psalmist's Praise For -

God's Patience - 1 Lord, thou hast been favourable unto thy land:

God's Power - thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.

God's Pardon - 2 Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people,

A Divine Work - Thou,

A Definite Work - hast forgiven

A Distinct Work - the iniquity of thy people - Mat 1:21 and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. (Those who, by personal faith, accept Him as Saviour)

A Definitive Work - thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.

God's Provision - thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.

God's Peace - 3 Thou hast taken away all thy wrath:

God's Pity - thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger

2. The Psalmist's Prayer For -

Repentance - 4 Turn us, O God of our salvation,

Remittance - and cause thine anger toward us to cease.

Relief - 5 Wilt thou be angry with us for ever?

Release - wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?

Revival - 6 Wilt thou not revive us again:

Rejoicing - that thy people may rejoice in thee?

The Source of Revival - Wilt thou not revive us

The Solemnity of Revival - again - (Backslidden)

To “revive” means to bring back to a former state.

The Subjects of Revival - that thy people

The Song of Revival - may rejoice in thee?

James McQuilkin - If God has visited his people before , He can and will do it again!

Remission - 7 Shew us thy mercy, O Lord,

Redemption - and grant us thy salvation.

3. The Psalmist's Promise To -

Hear - 8 I will hear what God the Lord will speak:

for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints:

Heed - but let them not turn again to folly.

Hope - 9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him;

Hold - that glory may dwell in our land. (God)

4. The Psalmist's Portrayal Of -

Partnership - 10 Mercy and truth are met together;

righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

Peace - 11 Truth shall spring out of the earth;

and righteousness shall look down from heaven.

Provision - 12 Yea, the Lord shall give that which is good;

and our land shall yield her increase.

Presence - 13 Righteousness shall go before him;

and shall set us in the way of his steps.
