Today we celebrate life.

The true meaning of easter is (new life) More specifically resurrection

Spring is a beautiful illustration of resurrection, because so many things that were dead come to life again,

For generations the coming of the messiah his death and resurrection had been foretold

Each succeeding generation wondered, if they would be the ones to see these prophecies fulfilled.

Our faith today does not look to the future for it’s fulfillment but rather stands on the solid ground of Christ’s resurrection and declares with Jesus Christ (It is Finished)

There is nothing to be added, nothing left undone, all that is required now is for us to believe in the finished work and enter into the benefits.

Had Jesus not raised from the dead Satans authority and dominion in the earth and over the souls of men would have remained in force.

Everything about Jesus had the mark of resurrection about it.

When he raised up Jairus daughter

When he healed the man with the withered hand

When he delivered the demoniac

When he opened the eyes of the blind, caused deaf ears to hear

This was Jesus life and ministry:

restoration, healing, deliverance, forgiveness, It all boils down to one word (Resurrection)

I am the resurrection and the life

The very foundation of the Christian Faith is the resurrection

1 Cor 15:12-20 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?

13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:

14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.

16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:

17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.

19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

Then he goes on to say:

Col 1:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers he made a show of them openly triumphing over them in it.

Jesus very own words spoke to us of resurrection life

Jn 10:10 I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.

I saw a picture in the bible that I believe is descriptive of the resurrection

Num 17:

There was a division and contention over the right to the priesthood, so God said that he would choose the one, and he would make his choice known in such a way that it would put an end to the dispute and confusion.

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and take of every one of them a rod according to the house of their fathers, of all their princes according to the house of their fathers twelve rods: write thou every man’s name upon his rod.

3 And thou shalt write Aaron’s name upon the rod of Levi: for one rod shall be for the head of the house of their fathers.

4 And thou shalt lay them up in the tabernacle of the congregation before the testimony, where I will meet with you.

5 And it shall come to pass, that the man’s rod, whom I shall choose, shall blossom: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, whereby they murmur against you.

Then the bible says:

8 And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.

9 And Moses brought out all the rods from before the LORD unto all the children of Israel: and they looked, and took every man his rod.

10 And the LORD said unto Moses, Bring Aaron’s rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the rebels; and thou shalt quite take away their murmurings from me, that they die not.

What is the point? (Resurrection is the final Word)

That’s good news today, because it doesn’t matter what the devil has done, what the doctor has said, what circumstances in life are saying to you, (Everything you can see and feel may speak of death,

But God has the final word and that word is (Resurrection)
