Summary: Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

Matthew 28:1-10: Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.

But the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you."

So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word.

And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, "Rejoice!" So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me."

Here are five important aspects related to the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

1. The resurrection of Jesus Christ demonstrates to us that God is faithful to His promises and does not break His covenant.

(Numbers 29:19, Psalm 16:10, 89:34, Matthew 28:6, Mark 9:9, Luke 24:6-7, John 2:22)

2. The resurrection of Jesus Christ reveals His divinity and sets Him apart from ordinary humans, making Him unique in that death cannot hold power over Him.

(John 10:17-18, 11:25, 14:19, Romans 6:9)

3. The resurrection of Christ is the beginning of a new creation and through Christ, it is evidence of our becoming children of God.

(2 Corinthins 5:7, 1 Peter1:3-4, John 1:12)

4. The resurrection of Jesus Christ establishes our hope that just as He rose to eternal life, so shall we rise to eternal life.

(Job 19:25-27, Daniel 12:2, John 5:25, 11:25, 1 Thessalonians 4:14)

5. The risen Christ strengthens our faith because He abides with us, and only a living person can abide with another.

(Joshua 1:9, Matthew 18:20, 28:20, John 14:18, Hebrews 13:5-6)
