Eagles get or grow stronger with age, whilst humans get or grow weaker with age. This is because the eagles have a restoration or renewal process in their mid 40’s. The eagle goes through a painful process for 5 months as part of this restoration. The process requires that the eagle fly to a mountaintop and sit on its nest. There the eagle knocks its beak against a rock until it plucks it out. Then the eagle will wait for a new beak to grow back and then it will pluck out its talons. When it’s new talons grow back, the eagle starts plucking its old, aged feathers. The eagle will then wait for new feathers to grow and once it grows, the eagle takes its famous flight of rebirth and lives for 30 more years. The eagle will regain vigor, renew its strength, live longer, and soar higher.

The eagles won’t have to worry about their health or ability for the next 30 years. God promises to renew our strength like eagles in Isaiah 40:30-31. It means that God will renew our physical bodies in such a way that there will be no weariness, tiredness, or health problems. God will renew our health and our physical bodies like a young person. Even as people age, their physical bodies do not age and their health does not deteriorate. They are free from health issues in old age. They can grow spiritually so much, and their physical bodies can keep them going. George Mueller’s life was transformed as a result of God’s renewal or restoration process.

At the age of 71, George Mueller embarked on a 17-year missionary journey. He visited over 40 countries and travelled over 200,000 miles. There is no age restriction on who can work to complete God’s plan as God can renew people’s strength.

Waiting on the Lord is the process by which you enter the phase of renewed strength. The Lord will pluck both our physical and spiritual strengths, qualities and abilities during this process and bring us to nothing. When we reach this stage of nothingness, the Lord bestows his divine strength and nature on us, renewing our strength both spiritually and physically. The waiting period or restoration process for the eagle is 5 months; for humans, it depends on how quickly you will submit to God’s will. It varies from person to person. It could take 5 years for some and 2 months for others. Don’t worry if you are in the waiting or restoration process; instead, submit your life to the Lord’s plucking. This process is for both young and old people.

Don’t resist the Lord’s plucking. The Lord plucks everything until there is no trace of self left. However, once our waiting period or process of renewed strength is completed, we will have renewed divine strength – renewed physical bodies, refreshed spirits, and become like a young person. With this renewed strength, we will grow wiser and healthier as we age. We will mount up with wings like eagles, scale new heights in our relationship with God and begin to do great exploits for the Lord.
