Summary: Who is God
For me, it’s to think that God loves me. Yeah, I’m not perfect but over the years I’ve learned God loves. In fact, the Bible says God is love. If we believe God is love, then everything he does is out of love. Everything! But, does God like me is another story altogether.
When I think about like-I don’t associate love with it. I like certain things, I like hanging out with friends and here Jesus says the term, friend. See that’s how God sees us though. He sees us as friends, regardless of anything! Do you think of God in that manner-do you see God as someone who actually wants to just come over and hang out with you and watch Football on a Sunday afternoon?
Jesus liked sinners. He was called the friend of sinners. He associated with them by having dinner with them, going to their parties and their weddings, etc. Jesus does have demands. He does have a list of what it means to be a Christian to be a disciple or follower. But, no where in the Bible does God list a certain set of criteria for us to be His friends.
Closing Thoughts
What do you think about the idea or the thought that God likes you, as a friend?
