IMPORTANT THINGS THAT WE MUST DO TODAY

******************************************

1.THANK

We must have a heart of gratitude for all the benefits we have received from the Lord. We must be grateful for the past and realise it is purely the grace and mercy of God that has sustained us so far.

" Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed,Because His compassions fail not.

They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. "

2.TELL

We must share with others what the Lord has done for us. We must be a witness for the Lord. The Lord wants to empower us with His Holy Spirit so that we can be effective witnesses for the Lord.

ACTS 1:8

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

3.THINK

We must think about our way of living. We must examine our hearts to see if there is anything in us that is not beneficial. We must ask the Lord to search our hearts and show us if there is any thing offensive in our hearts. We must experience a thorough spiritual check up.

PSALM 139:23-24

" Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.

See if there is any offensive way in me,and lead me in the way everlasting."

4.TURN

We must take a decision to turn from everything that is harmful to our lives. We must not continue to persist in following the error of our ways. This is an opportunity to make a new start and turn over a new leaf in our lives. We must offer our bodies as a living sacrifice unto the Lord and be transformed by the renewing of our mind .

2 CHRONICLES 7:14

" if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

ROMANS 12:1-2

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. "

5.THIRST

We must be filled with a strong hunger and thirst for the Lord. Spiritual appetite is a strong indication of spiritual health. We must thirst for the Lord as the deer pants for the water. When we hunger and thirst for righteousness we will be filled. There must be a difference in our lives from the lives of those who are worldly in their desires. Our desires must be after the Lord Himself.

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. "

6.TOIL

We must take a decision to live for the Lord and serve Him all the days of our lives. We must use our strength and energy to live for the Lord. We should not live with a selfish motive but live for the Lord who gave His life for us.

JOSHUA 24:15

" But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."

2 CORINTHIANS 5:15

"And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. "
