Youth Sermon: Ready Your Soul

Keep Watch

Jesus tells us to keep watch because we don't know when He's coming back. It's like when you're waiting for a friend to come over, and you keep checking your phone or looking out the window. We need to be ready and alert for Jesus' return.

Now, I want to show you something cool. I have this alarm clock here, and I'm going to set it to go off in a few minutes. While we're talking, I want you to keep an ear out for when it goes off. This will help us remember to keep watch and be ready.

We need to be ready and alert for Jesus' return.

Keep Learning

Just like we go to school to learn new things, we need to keep learning about God and His Word. Joshua 1:8 tells us that if we follow God's Word, we'll be successful in life. So, let's make it a priority to read the Bible and learn from it every day.

Come to Christ

We all need a relationship with Jesus to be truly ready for anything. Romans 10:9 tells us that if we confess that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, we'll be saved. That's the most important decision we can make in our lives.

Application

So, how can we apply all of this to our lives? First, let's make a commitment to keep watch and be ready for Jesus' return. We can do this by living our lives in a way that honors Him and sharing His love with others. Second, let's keep learning by reading the Bible and growing in our faith. And finally, if you haven't already, make the decision to come to Christ and start a relationship with Him.

Did you hear the alarm go off? That's our reminder to always be ready and keep watch for Jesus.

Prayer

"Dear God, thank You for the reminder to be ready for whatever comes our way. Help us to keep watch, keep learning, and come to Christ. Give us the strength and wisdom to live our lives in a way that honors You. In Jesus' name, Amen."
