Summary: Why we should serve the Lord in 2016.
READY SET GO 2016 IS HERE LETS SERVE GOD WITH JOY
Things that should make us want to serve the Lord this year.
We should serve him because of all he has done for us
Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:
That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.
The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
1. Come let us praise him.
Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
2. We have hope
The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
3. He gave us this nation.
That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.
4. For Joy comes in the morning.
For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
5. Joy for the solid rock.
O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
6. We have freedom.
John 8:32 - And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:36 - If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Galatians 5:1 - Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
2 Corinthians 3:17 - Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord [is], there [is] liberty.
7. We have life.
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Colossians 3:4 | When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
