Ram Caught In A Thicket
Contributed by Samuel M on Mar 17, 2025 (message contributor)
Summary: Just like Abraham saw the ram, did you see the lamb of God anytime during your testing times? Every time you obey God's command in testing times, Jesus is waiting to reveal or show himself to you.
Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. Genesis 22:13
When we are going through times or testing and still remain obedient to God’s word, chances are that we may find or see the lamb of God. When Stephen was persecuted, he saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. Stephen saw the Lamb of God and received a more profound (greater) and fresh revelation of Jesus. Jesus at God's right hand signifies that Jesus is coequal with God and has been given sovereign authority to provide or fulfil God's plans on earth. Jesus represented the working nature of God for humanity. When Abraham was going to offer his only son as sacrifice, he saw the ram caught in the thicket. Sometimes God uses the times of tribulation, to makes us see the lamb of God and through the lamb, meet our needs. In times of tribulation and testing, he provides us deeper and greater revelations about his son Jesus Christ.
Abraham's obedience caused the ram to be caught in the thicket. Our obedience to God's word in the midst of trials and tribulations brings the lamb into our visible range, ties it, and makes us to see the lamb. The lamb was there before Abraham's eyes, ready to be sacrificed. God brings Jesus close to us and allows us to see Jesus in our trails and temptations. The lamb was waiting to be seen or discovered on the mountain. Jesus, the lamb of God, is waiting to reveal himself during the time of tribulation and testing.
Just like Abraham saw the ram, did you see the lamb of God anytime during your testing times? Every time you obey God's command in testing times, Jesus is waiting to reveal or show himself to you. He showed himself as a lamb to be sacrificed or slaughtered to Abraham. He will reveal himself as per your need, when you obey him. Jesus is waiting to be seen and reveal himself in the time of tribulation and testing.
And Abraham called the name of the place, The-LORD-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the LORD it shall be provided.” Genesis 22:13
What will the Lord provide? The Lord will provide his lamb, and when we look to him, all our provisions will be met. Without looking at the lamb, our needs will not be met. Abraham looked at the ram caught in the thicket and offered it as a sacrifice. The Lord will provide a fresh profound revelation of Jesus by which all our needs will be met. The Lord provides everything through the Lamb of God.
The lamb of God is the eternal sacrifice for our sins.
The lamb of God is the light in our darkness
The lamb of God is our healer, protector and provider.
Let us look unto the lamb of God, who capable and worthy enough to meet all our needs.
